Questions

The ones that actually get asked.

The tools

Are the tools actually free?

Yes. All four are free, with no account, no card, no trial, and no signup wall on any feature. There’s nothing to upgrade to.

Do I have to make an account?

No, and you can’t. There are no accounts on this site. Your tasks, piles, and menu save directly in your browser, which means they stay on the device you made them on and nobody else can read them.

Where does my data go?

Nowhere. Everything the tools create is stored in your own browser using local storage. The one exception is Task Breaker, which sends the text of your task to an AI model to get the steps back, and doesn’t keep it afterwards. Crisis Protocol never sends anything anywhere at all.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Your saved tasks and menu go with it. That’s the trade for having no account. Three-Pile has an export button, and Task Breaker lets you copy your steps out, so anything you want to keep can leave the browser.

Do I need to download an app?

No. All four run in the browser on any device. On a phone you can add the site to your home screen and it will open like an app.

Can I use them offline?

Crisis Protocol makes no network calls at all, so once the page has loaded it keeps working with no signal. Three-Pile and Dopamine Menu work offline once loaded too. Task Breaker needs a connection for the AI step.

Can I put them on my phone home screen?

Yes. In Safari use Share then Add to Home Screen; in Chrome use the menu then Add to Home screen. It will open full-screen like an app.

The book and the workshop

Who built these?

Matt Morrison, who has ADHD and built them after the standard productivity advice failed him for about three decades. They come out of the system in Built For Chaos, not out of a focus group.

Is Built For Chaos out?

Yes. Paperback and Kindle on Amazon, PDF at shop.builtforchaosbook.com. The free Starter Kit has the Introduction and Chapter 1 if you want to read some before deciding.

The book doesn’t mention a "dopamine menu". Did I miss it?

You didn’t. The book calls the system Dopamine Engineering: rather than moving a task you can’t start, you add the fuel it’s missing, and it names five kinds of fuel to add. "Dopamine menu" is the phrase most people already search for, so the tool uses it. Same idea, different label, and the reasoning behind it is in the book.

What’s in Built For Chaos?

Ten chapters, 38 pages of worksheets, and the Go-Bag of eleven crisis cards. It covers Human AF, the full Three-Pile System, energy matching, relationship scripts, and workplace survival.

Is there an audiobook?

It’s in production. Join the waitlist on the homepage and you’ll hear when it lands.

Everything else

Is this medical advice?

No. This is a productivity site, not a healthcare provider, and nothing here diagnoses or treats anything. See the medical disclaimer for the full version.

Can I use these with my clients or my team?

Personally, yes, freely. For anything commercial, redistributed, or rebranded, email first.

How do I get in touch?

Email matt@authenticmessstudios.com. It’s a one-person operation, so it may take a few days.
